Oregon has many diverse job opportunities for health care workers, in addition to being a high-paying state. There were approximately 80,190 health care practitioners and technicians working in Oregon, who earned an annual mean wage of $76,760, according to the 2008 Bureau of Labor Statistics. In that same year, Oregon was recorded as being one of the highest-paying states for emergency medical technicians and paramedics, diagnostic medical sonographers, radiation therapists and cardiovascular technologists and technicians.
