You Are What You Eat

Of all the health concerns facing the US right now, one of the biggest things we’ve begun to worry about is the nutritional value of the food we eat. With the severity of the obesity epidemic, healthcare professionals and weight loss experts alike have begun to scrutinize our food more than ever in order to determine exactly what we should be eating. Most people in the health field will agree that the best diet is a well-rounded one: As they say, everything in moderation. So while eating protein-filled meat is generally a good thing, chances are you don’t care to give too much thought to where your beef, pork, chicken, or turkey was before it landed on your tableā€”or what it was eating. Even farm animals that led a grain-fed existence have, more often than not, ingested a great deal of things you or I would not care to eat. From bugs to blood to much more, the following infographic takes a closer look at the age-old notion, “you are what you eat.” And you’re also what your food eats.
